Vesta Daniel Receives Service Award

On May 10, 2007, Vesta Daniel, professor in the Department of Art Education at the Ohio State University, received the 2007 Faculty Award for Excellence in Community-Based Scholarship at Ohio State University ’s annual Celebration of Excellence in Community Service and Scholarship. Dr. Daniel was recognized for her outstanding work as a bridge builder between the university and the community for more than 20 years. With her expertise in community-based art, art education, diversity issues, and multicultural education, she has developed and taught service-learning courses on community building through art in collaboration with community organizations.
