Mostly On-Line Masters Program in Art Education

A sequence intended for practicing art teachers and museum educators, the Mostly On-line Masters Program in Art Education focuses specifically on issues for practicing art educators in schools and community settings and integrates the advantages of the classroom context for experimentation and reflection. Please note that this is not a teacher certification/licensure program.

Students who are currently enrolled in the Mostly Online program hail from California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington, Washington D.C.

The application deadline for summer 2010 is April 15, 2010. Applications are reviewed as they are received; early application is encouraged.

American citizens who live outside of the U.S. and cannot take the Miller Analogies Test may submit a partial application (i.e. all materials except test scores).The Graduate Studies Committee will review the partial application and can elect to make the recommendation to allow the applicant to enroll in the first summer course as a Graduate Non Degree student. The MAT may be taken at OSU (or elsewhere) during the first summer and, in order to be accepted into and continue in the program, scores must be 400 or above and received by Monday, August 23, 2009. If the applicant is accepted into the program, the first summer course will transfer to the degree program as long as a grade of "B" or above was earned in the course.
Applicants with scores below 400 will not be admitted into the program.
The Graduate Non Degree option is not available to international students.

Program cohort is limited to 20 for a two-year sequence.

This degree sequence provides 45 graduate credit hours toward the total number of 60 hours required for the MA degree. Many will have some graduate hours that can be transferred. This is a matter of individual advising. Participants who do not have hours to transfer will need to plan to take additional hours. Please CLICK HERE for important information about taking the 15 additional hours and transfer credit.
