The essential mission of the Art Education Resource Center at The Ohio State
University is to support student teachers and department-related research
and teaching.
The Art Education Resource Center is part of a larger configuration of information
and communication resources that support the activities of the Art Education
Department. The Center contains a library of books and multimedia on curricula,
educational theory, criticism and history. Such electronic hardware as digital
cameras and “digital 8” video cameras, VCR players, and video
and DVD media are also available. The Center serves as a repository for many
of the dissertations and theses written by OSU graduates.
POLICIES
Access to the Center’s Collection is limited to Faculty, Staff, and
Students at work on projects related to department courses. Equipment and
materials needed for other purposes may be borrowed from Lord Hall, room 11.
Frequently asked questions:
- Who may borrow from the Resource Center?
Students, Staff, and faculty of the Art Education Department. Others may
borrow with written permission from the Department Chair.
- LCD Projectors that are owned by the Art
Education department are available for use inside of Hopkins Hall or for
conferences related to work in the department of art education.
- How long may materials and hardware be borrowed?
Most books and multimedia may be checked out for one one month.
Books and multimedia reserved for use in classes are checked out overnight,
though this policy is flexible at the discretion of the
Resource Center.
Students may check out still and video cameras
for up to one week.
Faculty may arrange for longer loan periods to fit their teaching needs.
Exceptions:
Students with written permission from their instructor may borrow hardware,
media, and print materials for more than one week, when the hardware or materials
will be used for classes or research directly related to the Art Education
Department.
